In 2014, Maisha Dyson founded Black Label Miami LLC as a solution to provide unique luxury/bespoke concierge experiences to VIP clientele consisting of International corporate executives, dignitaries and celebrities. As a transplant to the Miami area, she quickly identified a void in the marketplace that would be beneficial to both her professional and personal networks as well as luxury vendors in the Greater Miami area. Leveraging Ms. Dyson’s personal network, which expands across Chicago, Atlanta, NY, LA, Nashville, DC, Miami, London, Saudi Arabia, Black Label Miami emerged as a vehicle for business development by providing: trusted relationships, relationship building and being a conduit for partnerships.
Ms. Dyson began her business career by acquiring the profitable Young American Luxury Children’s boutique from sports agent Kenny Zuckerman and his wife Shani. She grew the company to be recognized as a “Top 7 Most Unique Boutiques in Los Angeles” by ABC-Channel 7 and “Best Children’s Store in Los Angeles” by Citysearch.com.
Ms. Dyson divested her interest in the company to become Principal of the Washington, DC based The Dyson Group, a family owned company. The Dyson Group includes Georgetown professor, national media commentator, author and talk show host, Dr. Michael Eric Dyson; In her capacity, Dyson oversaw general market strategic planning, client acquisition and relationship management with celebrities, professional athletes including members of the NBA community and foreign governments.
Ms. Dyson holds a M.A. from Columbia University in New York City and a B.A. from Spelman College. In addition, Ms. Dyson is formerly an accomplished actress and globally recognized commercial television personality.
Since early childhood, Maisha would accompany her Father on outings throughout Chicago neighborhoods that involved the maintenance, refurbishing and management of his investment properties. This family pastime became her passion as she began to appreciate and identify properties both old and new that had potential to increase in value. A passion that would one day resurface in Dyson’s adulthood. Driven by the motto “Put Happy People into Happy Homes,” Maisha enjoys working with Buyers and Sellers in finding their “perfect home.”
